It is a patented soft-tip, one time, individually wrapped, disposable, sterile applicator that applies these ointments without coming into contact with your hands. By applying the ointment directly to applicator and then the wound, it reduces the cross contamination of your hands being involved. Being a frequent flyer of hospitals near and far. I realized how much the staff touched with hands or gloves, before attending to the wounds, ulcers, rashes, and infections.
